Hair Color Correction:

Home coloring kits are designed to be cheap & easy, but as the old saying goes, “you get what you pay for!”  As long as the directions on the box are followed exactly, you shouldn’t have any problems. Would we recommend you doing an “at home – out of the box – color kit” – the answer is NO! Here is why …

First, we want everyone to know that hair coloring kits contain chemicals that could cause allergic reactions to your body and skin. This is very important to know, as a bad reaction could cause severe illness or even be fatal (which is obviously a whole lot worse than bad hair). If you are using an out of the box solution – do a small skin test first.

Secondly, it’s important to know that the hair color you desire – might take more than one or two treatments before getting the results you’re looking for. Use our rule of three. You can only go 3 shades darker or lighter than your hair color currently is. If you are jet-black and want to be platinum blonde – don’t expect to get there overnight! 

The #1 reason for people needing a color corrective hair service is because they “experimented” with an out of the box solution. The #2 reason for people needing a color corrective hair service is because they went to a “cheap” salon with inexperienced hair stylist.

To sum it up, here is our advice. Stay away from doing your hair yourself (unless you are a hair stylist) and please be aware that any corrective color situation might take you multiple times to get you back to the results that you desire. The most important thing is the health of your hair. No matter what color you would like your hair to be, if it’s not healthy – it won’t look good!

It takes years and years of training, education, and experience.
